Testimonio: La KOSSA NOVA por Moris Argent

LA CUEVA

Existió un lugar en el centro de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, adonde solía ir.

Eran todos músicos, de jazz, de bolero y músicos de tango, así que los escuche a ellos. Ellos son mis raíces.

Mis raíces en Buenos Aires, el tango, la bossa nova y un poco de jazz, y no olvidemos al bolero - la música romántica - . Es una mezcla de cosas y podemos decir que su nombre es KOSSA NOVA. Kossa Nova es algo Nuevo, una Kossa Nova es un invento.

Grabar Pato trabaja en una carnicería en el año setenta, era la cosa más rara del mundo.

Un tipo en una carnicería es…… mientras Donald decía las Olas y el viento sucundún sucundún y el frío del mar, Pato trabaja es una cosa super calle.

En realidad esto es una búsqueda, la búsqueda de una música para el mundo.

Éramos siete u ocho tipos que andábamos con las guitarras ahí con papelitos escribiendo cosas y cantándonos uno al otro nuestras canciones.

Terminé de escribir Pato trabaja en una carnicería y se lo mostré a Javier Martínez y me dijo: -Che, que lindo, que bien, canta acá el puente, me gustaría que repitieras acá tal cosa.

Por ejemplo Lito Nebbia no tocaba bossa nova, yo le pasé unos acordes a él, pero yo no hacía falsete y Lito si hacía falsete, entonces ahí hubo una interacción, un intercambio.

Era como si hoy estuvieran acá sentados Cerati, León, Lerner y Cordera, todos fueran amigos y compartieran las mismas ideas musicales, que no se da.

Si vamos a hacer un poco de historia, que también sería interesante para alguien que viene de afuera y dijera -¿ Bueno de donde viene todo esto?

There was a place in downtown Buenos Aires, where I used to go. There were all musicians, jazz, bolero and tango musicians, so I listen to them. Those are my roots. My roots in downtown Buenos Aires, tango, bossa nova and a little jazz, and don´t forget bolero-romantic music-.It is a mixture of things and you can say that the name of it is KOSSA NOVA. Kossa Nova is something new, a Kossa Nova is an invention.

-We were seven or eight guys back in 1965/1966 that hang around with our guitars out there, with small papers writing down things and singing to each other our songs.

For example Lito Nebbia didn´t played bossa nova, I pass over him some achords, but I didn´t sing falsetto and Lito did it, so there was an interaction, an interchange.

It was like if today here were sitting Cerati, Leon, Lerner y Cordera, they were all friends and share the same musical ideas, but that doesn´t happens.

If we are going to make some history, that could be interesting mainly for someone coming from abroad. –Well, where did all this come from?
